After that there are a range of options to allow the owner to be informed; such as a Dialler or Mobile GSM to ring you, a Voice Message or just a straight alarm/siren. Or alternatively you can "ring in" to "see" what the river height is. Or log on to this website and "see" your rivers progress on the internet.

EPS provide a Flood Warning System
This system is based on a family of products designed to measure either intrinsically
or differentially the height or distance of a water surface from it -
It consists of a transmit unit that gathers the height data and a receive unit that displays and processes the information received from the transmitter.
The system was primarily designed to measure the height of rivers and so is firstly aimed at river authorities interested in monitoring river height for flood warning data. Secondly it has been used to assist the river fishing fraternity interested in monitoring the changes of river height in Scotland (U.K.) and its influence on migratory salmonids.
The system allows a measurement to be made without a direct physical connection between the transmitter and the receiver, i.e. wireless, thereby allowing the system to be used in unusual environments typical of those encountered on a riverbank.
